Susan H. Hertzler (Sue) grew up in Norristown, Pennsylvania outside of Philadelphia. She is the daughter of Clarence R. and Edith S. Husband formerly of PA, now living in Morganton, NC. Sue graduated in 1980 with an A.A.S. degree in Accounting from Montgomery County Community College, in Blue Bell, PA. In 1981, Sue married Keith A. Hertzler also of Norristown, PA. In 1982, they relocated to the Bethlehem Community of Alexander County where they still reside.

Sue and Keith are the parents of Kimberly Ann and Kurtis C. Hertzler. Kim is a 2006 graduate of Appalachian State University with a degree in Elementary Education, she is currently teaching 2 nd grade at Bethlehem Elementary School. Kurtis is currently attending UNC-Charlotte studying Computers and Criminal Justice with plans on graduating in May of 2011.

Sue loves to spending time with her family and dogs and also enjoys reading. She is a member of the Bethlehem Ruritan Club where she serves on the Board of Directors.
